05 / Why Chatham Media

One person. First call, and every month after.

Dax Chatham, founder of Chatham Media

Founder-led from the first call, and every month after.

You will not be handed to an account manager, because there isn't one. I take the first call, draw the design, write the code and push it live — then I keep it. The person who built your site is the same one improving it a year later. Nothing goes to a junior and nothing goes overseas. Most inquiries get a reply within one business day.

What people ask before they call.

Answered properly, so the call is short — or unnecessary.

Q1

What does “monthly” actually mean?

You are not buying a website, you are keeping the studio that runs it. The build, the hosting, the updates, the search work and the improvements are all inside the monthly number. Nothing up front, and no invoice arrives because you asked for a change.

Q2

Am I locked into a contract?

No. There is no contract and no agreement to sign. You are always one text away from canceling, and there is no cancellation fee or notice period.

Q3

Do I have to manage any of it?

No, and that is most of what you are paying for. Text me the change and it gets made. You will not be asked to log into a dashboard, sit through a training call, or learn a page builder.

Q4

Can you work with the website I already have?

Usually I rebuild it, because the ceiling on a template is the reason most of these sites need replacing. If yours is genuinely well built and recent, say so on the first call and we will talk about taking it over instead.

Q5

What do I have to give you?

Ten minutes on a discovery form, your logo if you have one, and whatever photos you already own. If your photos are thin I will tell you honestly rather than build a site with holes in it.

Q6

Do you handle search, booking and leads?

Yes, all three. Local search foundations and enquiry forms are in every plan. Ongoing search work, automatic follow-up and your booking tool embedded in your own pages start at Growth.

Q7

What are the assistants, exactly?

The website assistant answers the questions people ask before they book — hours, services, location, what a first visit is like — and points them at the next step. The front-desk assistant does the same for common phone calls and routes people toward booking. Neither one gives advice, and anything they cannot answer comes to you.

Q8

What if I hate it?

You see a designed homepage concept before a single page gets built, so the direction is settled while it is still free to change. After launch you have 14 days to ask for your money back and you do not have to explain why.

Q9

Do I own the site?

Yes. The design, the copy and the domain are yours. If you leave, the domain goes with you and I will point it wherever you want.

Q10

Why not just use Wix or Squarespace?

Because the theme decides your layout, your spacing, your type and your motion before you ever log in, and your brand gets whatever room is left. Every feature those platforms give you gets replicated here, on a site that did not exist before you.

07 / Start

Ready to look like the best in town?

Two ways in. Both come straight to me.

You run a business during business hours. Every step here has a version you can finish at eleven at night on your phone, and the async route answers the same questions the call would.

No question here should require a phone call to get answered.

Start here — no call

Get your custom brand analysis video.

Plus the exact next steps, to finish on your own time.

I record a walkthrough of your current site, your Google profile, and the two or three shops people compare you to, then send it back with your next step written out. Watch it at eleven at night if that is when you have time. There is no call anywhere in this path unless you ask for one.

Step 01

Discovery form

Ten minutes, on your schedule. Your services, your prices, how you take bookings, and who you want walking through the door. This is the only homework.

Day 0
Step 02

Concept design

I draw the real homepage with your words and your photos in it, not a grey wireframe. Reply with notes by text. Nothing gets built until you like it.

Day 1–3
Step 03

Build

Custom coded, wired to your booking platform, pointed at the inbox or phone you actually check. You get a private link to watch it come together.

Day 3–10
Step 04

Launch

I quote 14 days and aim for 10. If you are not live in 10, you don't pay for the first month. After that, five updates a month, sent by text.

Day 10–14

Option B — 20 minutes

Let's talk.

Twenty minutes. Camera optional.

You will be talking to me, not to a salesperson working from a script. I will have your current site, your Google profile and your two closest competitors open before we start, so you are not spending the call describing your own business back to me. Bring the site you have — I will tell you what I would change on it whether or not you hire me.
